About Us

Our obsession with buiding Home Theater PCs (HTPCs) began decades ago. It was the late 90s, the Internet was taking off and Internet radio was being introduced. Being into alternative music, Interent radio was a dream come true. Finally, people weren't limited to what was on the radio. Of course Internet radio came through the computer and our good speakers were at the TV. While there were and still are a variety of work arounds, it seemed to us even then that having a computer at the TV just made sense.

More than a couple decades later, with massive amounts of streaming video, movies, online TV/cable broadcasts, new media, music and more, it makes even more sense. While there are plenty of work arounds such as smart TVs which give access to some online content, all of these work arounds have some pretty severe limitations and are simply attempting to be more like one device, the HTPC. HTPCs put your music on your best speakers and your streaming video, PC games, or Internet pages on your best TV, all from the comfort of your couch. No limitations.

Dragora Technologies is an HTPC builder that can build your HTPC to your specs, designed for your needs. We've built Home Theater PCs for general use, gaming, or even music production. We also sell our branded cases to the general public and we think they're still the best HTPC cases around for the money.

HTPC Cases

Dragora provides two models of home theater pc cases that are either sold as stand alone cases, or used as the basis for our HTPC builds. The two models are the "R Series" and the "X Series". The two cases can be differentiated easily by the CD/DVD location. The R Series has the CD/DVD/Blu-ray drive in the middle of the unit, whereas the X Series has two open slots to the right of the unit which can be used to mount a CD/DVD/Blu-ray drive and another 5.25" device such as a USB hub/card reader. Both cases come with a brushed aluminum finish in either black or silver. Both cases come with a two line VFD display for displaying a custom message or time/date information. Both cases support full ATX motherboards.

Our costs are simple. Both home theater PC cases cost $149 plus shipping, or can be built to your specs for 25% of part costs. If you have questions, simply call us. Below the two units are shown with their specs. Click on the gallery link to see larger pictures.

NOTE: This is an HTPC case and was not designed as a gaming case so the location of the DVD will interfere with the primary graphics slot if a large graphics card is used. There are 3 work arounds for this. 1. If using one card, use a motherboard where the secondary slot runs as fast as the primary graphics slot (confirm this with the manufacturer) and use the secondary slot. 2. Use a graphics card with smaller length. 3. If running multiple cards, or you need to use the primary graphics slot and a large graphics card, the DVD/3.5" bracket can be removed and you can just use a USB DVD drive when needed.

If you're using SSD drives these drives could also be relocated to one of the 5.25 bays, or you could use an on-board SSD and the 3.5 bracket could then be removed.
